The music of Ronald Beckett has a clear tonality, but within that a rich chromatic freedom, an expansive harmonic world an original compositional voice – his music is beautifully crafted, is deeply expressive and he has a great sense of musical architecture across a wide variety of forms. The composer is the pianist on this album, with members of the Arcady Ensemble & the Essex Winds performing across the other various tracks.
