Kip Johnson (Canada)

Kip Johnson is a bass-baritone, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Monterey, California. He graduated from the Fountain School of Performing Arts in 2023 with a degree in Composition.

In Halifax, Kip is a choral scholar with the King’s College Chapel Choir and the Cathedral Church of All Saints. He is also a soloist with ensembles like the Kings Chorus and the Dalhousie Opera.

His choral piece Forsaken was performed at 2023 Open Waters Festival in Halifax. He also participates in composition workshops with international ensembles, including Ensemble Silakbo and Symphony Nova Scotia.

Kip performs with various folk ensembles with a focus on traditional music of the British Isles and the folk revival.
